Planting the Seed
Hi there!
Welcome to the Fruit Bearing Branches Blog! I'm Nellie and I run The Good Soil Rooted and Fruit Bearing Branches ~ it's lovely to have a place to talk about God and to share the gospel with others.

To give a little introduction, let me explain the thought behind this blog: I recently finished a wonderful devotion delving into how we can draw closer to God - how we can abide in Him. It was such a powerful study, and one point that really touched my heart was the importance of sharing the Lord. As we walk with Christ, it's crucial to invite others on this narrow path. I encourage you to read John 15, explaining God as the Vinedresser, Jesus the Vine, and us - His children - as the branches. Verse 5 says "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing". We are to cling to Jesus, abide in Him, that we bear the fruit of the Spirit. The evidence of our abiding relationship with Christ will be in our character, and when we let our light shine, others will see the good that we do through the working of the Holy Spirit.

Remember the parable of the sower? The Good Soil Rooted is inspired by the seed that fell on the good soil. "The good soil represents the hearts of those who gladly listen, who sink their roots deep into the word and hold on to it. These people endure and produce a large harvest of spiritual fruit" (V.15). My prayer is to endure! To produce a large harvest of spiritual fruit. My prayer is to spread the gospel to others to glorify God. My prayer is a heart that is rooted in faith. My prayer is that you are inspired to be fruit bearing branches for the Lord as well.
I want to use my talents for the Lord, and encourage others to do the same. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord, friends. How will you use your gifts to serve and glorify the Lord?
